It seems I have some friends, who not only barely read their email, but have yet to discover the joys of Facebook.....Mary M, this is for you.
The PTA of the American School of Doha held it's annual ASD Gala. Black Tie (can you hear ZZ Top when I say that?) event. I shopped for dresses, but really, the best place to shop for me is my sister's closet. That's one of the things I did in Houston over Christmas. Thank you, Karen!
This gala was so much fun. Cash bar (but who's complaining - not me), silent auction, CASINO NIGHT with blackjack and Texas Hold'em. (I just wish someone would teach me how to play Texas Hold'em...hmmm, do I know anybody that could do that?)
We went with several of our new friends, Susan and Zac and Gayla and Randall. Poor Lynn had been sick for several days and couldn't make it. We missed you Lynn!
Steve (oh, sorry)...My anonymous husband and I were bidding on a mid-week membership to the Doha Golf Club, but the price finally got to high. We will stay on the waiting list for that privelege.
All in all, a fabulous night with new friends. Here's to next year!
