O Man, Oman! Redux

Qtel is cooperating! Yea for me! We had such a great time on our trip to Oman, but what "wowed" us the most was the terrain. Cool rocky beaches that the boys loved exploring. On one of our boat trips we got to see forts built into the rocks. The "grafitti" you see are calling cards left by ships that have docked over the years. Here are some more!

Look! Pictures!

I got some pictures loaded. Amazing. Took a little while, one picture at a time, QTel crashing on me a couple of times, but my persistance paid off. Now maybe I can get some vacation pictures up so you all can see how beautiful Oman is. Keep your fingers crossed.

These are my Easter pictures.

My boys have street cred.

Apparently,

I will never be able to post a picture to my blog again. I've tried and tried. It is just not happening. Why others in Doha don't have this same problem, I don't know. Do I need to try in the middle of the night? That may be a problem.

So, I've had fun. Hope you have, too. But I guess that's it for now. Thanks for playing along.

O Man! Oman!

(Thanks Katie!)

First thing I'd like to say? Oman is beautiful. Our resort was nestled in among these "mountains!" as the kids called them (can it be that they've never seen "real" mountains?). We were amazed at the Muscat terrain and the amount of vegetation that was growing. They call Oman the Jewel of Arabia. I can see why.

Our spring break trip was wonderful. Relaxing (because we're soooo busy here). Lazy. Gluttonous.

There was a pool, a beach and a lazy river at the hotel, all 3 of which the kids enjoyed thoroughly. Scott was obsessed with crabs and shells. Kaylie met a cute 9 year old Russian girl living in Bahrain and made an immediate new friend. John.... well, John was his normal self.

We mostly lazed about, while the kids ran amok. And let me just say, that I think that the best margaritas this side of Texas are at the Barr Al Jissa resort. A sunset boat ride along the coast, another boat ride to see the dolphins, we loved it all.

Wouldn't you love to see pictures? Too bad. I can't upload.... anything (that's not what I was going to say, but this is a family site, right?) at the moment. Connection keeps crashing. I'll keep working on it. Check back often!

Spring Break.....Finally

So it seems like it's been forever in coming, but Spring Break in Doha is finally here. We are off on Friday to Muscat, Oman for a little R&R. Getting away is just what we need for the last 8 weeks of school. It's a race to the end!

We'll see you when we get back!
